Seat Belt: It is mandatory to wear seat belts for passengers in front as well as rear seats. Seat belts improve the safety of the passengers in the event of a collision with another vehicle or object.
Using Mobile Phones: Using mobile gadgets while driving distracts the driver, leading to accidents. Therefore, those caught driving with a mobile phone may be levied a penalty of AED 800.
Speed Limits and Risky Behavior: Speed limits are enforced in cities, and violation will attract heavy penalties. Drunken driving is prohibited, and those found driving under the influence of alcohol will be penalized. Driving in a flooded valley is also not permitted.
